The position of the cervix and uterus does not cause the IC. The chances are good that you will carry to near term if you stay down as your doctor asks you to do. In my experience all but one of my 'circlage' patients made it to at least 36 weeks. It was interesting that many of them had to be induced at term because their uterus did not go into good labor!
