This can hardly represent a second opinion, but the removal of a cervical polyp is a very minor thing. I am very surprised that your doctor did not deal with it at the time he saw it. The polyp is grasped with an instrument and removed very quickly. There is no pain, except in very rare circumstances, and only minimal pain then. Cervical polyps are generally benign, but since there is essentially no risk to removal, and the rare one can be abnormal, I would urge you to have it removed.
