We always monitored these patients and kept the MgSO4 running for 12 hours. It has been too long since I have seen one. We were lucky in that in a general practice of OB we had very few high risk patients. We treated the pre- eclamptics but referred much of the preemie stuff to Ohio State Univ. because of their high risk newborn units (45 min via ambulance) Thank you for keeping my brain in gear.
