Re: 28 year old with no menstrual bleedingFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netSat, 13 Feb 1999 11:23:20 EST

I have NEVER been in so much pain in my entire life!!!!!! I believe I screamed the entire time and begged them to stop. ****** I blame two people for you ignorance of this procedure. (Hystersalpingogram) 1) Your Doctor 2) YOU for not asking ahead of time. The pain was a result of the pressure put in the canal. Your Doctor was trying to open the blocked tube. ******* Pain shots are readily available in any hospital, and they are not expensive.

whether or not this is the cause of my lack of menstruating. Could it be?
******* Not very probable that they are related! (BUT - maybe!)
>>From here I will be scheduled for a Laporoscopy and as well they will be looking at the uterus through the cervix. This procedure will be done in about three months with a Doctors appointment just before to go over the procedure. ******** Laporoscopy = Looking into the body cavity. Needs general anesthesia. Hysteroscopy = Looking into the cavity of the uterus. With or without general anesthesia.

>> Can I? As far as getting pregnant goes my husband and I are trying to ****** This OBGYN sounds like a good doctor. Stick with him/her and you will get your answers. If he/she doesn't explain it to you, ask. Did you know that the pregnancy rate AFTER blowing open the tubes is higher if the husband holds the patient's hand DURING the x-rays? ============================================= *Note: Opinions expressed here are for educational purposes only.
