28 year old with no menstrual bleedingFrom: Michelle (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 12 Feb 1999 18:45:53 -0600 (CST)
I was referred to a gynecologist a couple of months ago > because I hadn't had a period since June of 1998. To give you a little bit of my history: I was on Depo Provera for approx. 6 months ending in February of 1998 I went on the birth control pill and had regular periods until June of 1998 when I had a very light flow In August I believed that I may be pregnant and took a pregnancy test--negative. My family doctor sent me for hormonal tests--slightly high but not enough to affect my periods. Next was progestorine (forgive my spelling) for a couple of weeks--nothing happened and then the birth control for 1 month--still no period. I was then referred to a gynecologist. Dr. put me on an estrogen pill for one month and a progesterone for two weeks overlapping the last two weeks of the estrogen. After two weeks of being on the estrogen I had a very light dark spotting for two days. I completed the progesterone and estrogen recently and have had no period still!! Yesterday I went to Lion's Gate Hospital for an x-ray of my uterus where a cathadern (spelling?!) was placed into my cervix and dye injected to see my insides better. I was not told anything about this procedure other that there may be some cramping. I have NEVER been in so much pain in my entire life!!!!!! I believe I screamed the entire time and begged them to stop. (Can you tell me the name of this x-ray.) They have found that one of my tubes is blocked. They didn't explain whether or not this is the cause of my lack of menstrating. Could it be?
>From here I will be scheduled for a Laparoscopy and as well they will be I would like to know more about it before then. They didn't tell me if I still can get pregnant with one tube or not. Can I? As far as getting pregnant goes my husband and I are trying to conceive but is it going to happen or do I wait three months down the road for the Laparos.....
