Adhesions after HysterectemyFrom: Anna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 10 Feb 1999 22:27:28 -0600 (CST)
Hello. I am 28 and had a hysterectemy last March. After having this surgery. I have had several problems with adhesions appearing. I have excruciating abdominal pain, and a BM only about every 4 - 5 days. I am in constant pain. I have had surgery about 9 times to remove adhesions since my hysterectemy. Each time my surgeon keeps using a "wash" to prevent the adhesions from returning. However, it seems that they keep coming back anyways. I have read alot about this topic and am officially confused. I know that there are preventative "implants" and such things that can be used that haven't been tried yet. However, I'm not certain what is actually available in the US. My body response is usually different than the average bear's. So I'm wandering if someone can shed some light on the different preventative measures that are available for adhesions in the US and what complications might be associated with them. Please reply soon, because I am scheduled for another surgery to remove adhesions on Monday Feb. 15th. I am desperately wanting to get to the bottom of this because I'm a single parent and am taking an enormous amount of pain medication which is greatly effecting my life. Thank you so much for your time. Anna
