Ultrasound datingFrom: AMD (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 10 Feb 1999 17:18:40 -0600 (CST)
I just had my ultrasound, and I am a little confused by the date. My OB had calculated July 7 based off my BBT charts (which puts me at 19 weeks now), but the US calculated June 28 (about 20 w 4d and 383g estimated weight). LMP-based date was July 3rd. I would assume that the BBT-based date would be the most accurate, but there's a 9 day variation. Is that within the expected limits of US dating at this time in pregnancy? Or could the US dates be affected if the baby is larger than average? I didn't have a 1st trimester US. I'll see my OB next week, but thought I would try to get some feedback sooner. In my first pregnancy, my US date was a week later than my LMP date, but my son was born 3 weeks before the LMP date (4 weeks before the US date). So now I am throroughly confused about when to expect this baby! I guess I just better be ready anytime in June or July! Other than my confusion, everything looked good: 1 head, lips and nose intact, 2 arms, 10 fingers, 2 feet, a 4 chamber heart, 3 vessel cord, and 1 penis. He wasn't very cooperative about giving the tech all the views she wanted, but she was able to get what she needed. Thanks, Andrea
