I asked about the cleft because my son has a bifid uvula (it's forked like a snake's tongue), which has been explained to me as a very mild expression of a cleft palate. I don't know if that puts me at higher risk of having a baby with a more severe cleft? That's why I was curious if an actual cleft palate would be visible on the sonogram.
