Gambling on menopause

I have two questions: One, what is the current thinking on how much (1) fibroids (2) endo can be expected to improve after menopause (assuming no HRT)?

Two, when would you guess I might reach menopause based on the following? I am 46 and for the past 18 months or so I have had intermittent menstrual irregularity and mild hot flashes. I also am increasingly experiencing symptoms that many people say are perimenopausal: sleep disturbance, joint pain, irritable skin, mood swings, and ESPECIALLY memory problems.

I am single, nulliparous, have no health problems other than fibroids and endo and take no medications. My maternal grandmother reached menopause in her late thirties; my mother I'm not exactly sure about, but I know she was still menstruating somewhere around the mid-40s, before her hysterectomy. No details on my paternal relatives, but health and longevity in general are much better on that side of the family.

I'm seeing my gynecologist tomorrow morning for the first time in about a year and would appreciate any help you can offer with my mental preparation. These visits are always difficult because the doctor (who is a very kind man, by the way) thinks I really should just have the hysterectomy/oophorectomy already. Thanks for your time.
