Adhesion questionsFrom: Chris (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 2 Feb 1999 23:50:32 -0600 (CST)
I had a diagnostic lap done yesterday and the iformation relayed through my husband was that I have adhesions attaching my right ovary to bowel plus some covering, but not surrounding my ureter. My doctor did not touch them and said she would consult with me to see what I wanted to do. She mentioned that I may need a laparotomy to remove them. The only surgery I have had before this was 16 years ago... I guess I want to know why they would form now or start causing pain now after all this time? Can adhesions in these areas be fixed during a laparoscopy by someone skilled, or will I have to undergo a laparotomy?
