16 yrs. old bleeding between periods. What's wrong with me!From: Tricia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 2 Feb 1999 11:48:54 -0600 (CST)
I'm 16 years old and ever since I started my period when I was12 I have had problems with regular periods. At 13 the doctor put me on birth control pills because one day I started my period and it didn't stop for a month. Since than I have been on 7 different birthcontrol pills. Over christmas break I was rushed to the emergency room for unbelievable pain in my right side. They did an ultra sound, pelvic exam ( which I've had done at least10 times since age 13 ) and x-rays and they sent me home saying they had no idea what was wrong with me. Well lately for the past week I have been bleeding what looks like oil, with black and red clots in it. My mother is an R.N. and she said that she had the same thing happen to her 9 days after her historectomy because she had a rupture. So she thought that mabey I had a cyst on my ovaries that ruptured and the black blood I'm bleeding is just old blood from it . I have been to 7 different gynocologists about my problems and they just put me on a different pill and tell me to go on my way. I know there is something wrong with me because bleeding clots, oil looking stuff, having SEVERE cramps , and bleeding constantly even when I'm taking birthcontrol pills is not normal. So can someone please help me or atleast tell me what to do, because I'm worried about infertility, and more than anything in the world I want two beautiful children when I get married. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.
