Fibrocystic breasts and breastfeedingFrom: AMD (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 1 Feb 1999 17:57:52 -0600 (CST)
I saw the earlier posts on fibrocystic breasts and started wondering if this could make breastfeeding more difficult? I have large "bumpy boobs", and had a very hard time with my first child. It's like there is no soft, mushy tissue on top of the hard bumpy tissue for the baby to latch on to (sorry to be so graphic!). Could there be any connection between the fibrocystic breasts and breastfeeding problems? Also, will the fibrocystic tissue "soften up" before I am old enough to start needing mammograms? Right now, I think I would needs valium and lidocaine to flatten my breasts enough for a mammogram. ;) Andrea
