men and yeast infections

I have currently had what I think is a yeast infection. I have had such infection only a few times in my life (last one was many yrs ago) but recognized it right away or so I think. When I was telling my spouse about the infection my spouse told me that he had been having some itching and discomfort on the tip of his penis. I examined the area he was referring to and noticed little red bumps all over the head of the penis. I had heard of men getting yeast infections from women but have not heard of what the symptoms and treatment might be. I had bought an over teh counter product that has seem to have worked for me. I recommended that my husband might use the cream from this product and apply it morning and night to the affected area. He has told me that the itching and bumps have gone away. My friends have since told me that he may need to go to the doctor to get an antibiotic to have the infection totally cured. Is this true? From the symptoms, does this seem like a man with a yeast infection? I do not intend to get re-infected by having intercourse with him. Also, with my 3 yr old daughter....I noticed after she went to the potty she was having some itching in her privates. Upon examining her she had some discharge much like my own. Could my husband or myself have passed this on to her by showering in the same bathtub she bathes in? My 8 yr. old daughter takes a bath in the same tub and has not had this discharge. Any and all information on this subject will be greatly appreciated. R1
