I am a 35 yr old divorced woman. I have never been pregnant and have had irregular menstruation since menarche. For the last three years or so I have been getting one or two periods at the most per year. I am under a moderate amount of stress (on a scale of 0-10, I am in about 6.5) About four years ago, I had an attack of thrombocytopenia that was fully investigated and attributed to a viral infection. However my ANA was positive so lupus was considered a possibility. My thyroid function is normal My glucose level is high My testesterone level is high. I am gaining weight. Very mild hirsuitim has ensued. I get migraines. I have a very rich family history of Diabetes. 1-which way should I go: antiandrogens, metformin or ??? Keeping in mind that my migraines. 2-which risks am I looking at (besides infertility):cancer breast, cervical..etc?
