Diana,

Try and search the forum for info on the CA125 test. I know some of the doctors have been posting about it. It's highly unreliable as a cancer marker. Many, many things can make the level increase. I wouldn't worry. The pathology report after the lap will be the definitive answer.

When I had surgery on my cyst, my doctor had said earlier in the week to take it easy and see if the cyst would go down. It was at 6cm them. The pain got worse and worse until I finally called his office and told the nurse how bad the pain was. She told me to come in immediately. The doc did a pelvic exam and I was in tears. He immediately scheduled an emergency lap. He told me the cyst felt larger in the pelvic exam and he was worried it was twisted. I had surgery a few hours later. Tell your doctor, "Hey, I can't stand the pain, even while on the pain meds." He should get the picture.

According to my doctor, if my cyst had ruptured, I would have had a really sharp pain, the fluid would be in the abdomial cavity and then the body would slowly absorb it. I would talk to your doctor about your specific type of cyst.

I hope you feel better soon and all of this is resolved. I wish you the best of luck.

Ann
