OK you have had a through pelvic exam including a rectal. Great

Yes, I use the word adhesion which is a scar usually between two surfaces.

E.g. an ovary is stuck to the top of the vagina by a band of thick scar tissue. Post operative one can form adhesions from and pelvic organ to any other pelvic organ. Ovaries do not HURT unless you pull on them and the cannot move (stuck by adhesions)

I had a case of a woman who had pain, pain, pain in the lower abdomen. We did a Lapscope and found that her appendix area (dix removed two years before) was stuck to her right tube and ovary. We were able to cut (burn) the adhesive band through the Lapscope. She awakened in the recovery room and stated, "My belly button hurts a little, but the PAIN IS GONE!" A very satisfying case. I wish that they were all so easy.

Most adhesions per se do not hurt. But they hold organs and surfaces together and those organs hurt. A tube or ovary stuck to the top of the vagina or bowel or ureter could cause all of your symptoms. I feel that your doc is thinking the same way. Perhaps you will have to have open surgery to free up any adhesions, but a Lapscope first with the possibility of opening while you are asleep (if findings of Lapscope indicate) may be needed.

Often adhesions can be freed up via the Lapscope with a cautery or laser. Good luck.
