Spotting every other day?From: Ariel (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 15 Jan 1999 20:37:37 -0600 (CST)
Hi. I'm 36, married, no children by choice. I have had very regular periods since I was 11, of 5 to 6 days each. The thing which is bothering me a bit is my last period lasted about 8 days, which is okay even if a little annoying, but in the ten days afterward I've spotted *every other day*. The spotting seems to occur around the same time of day (late afternoon) and lasts for about six hours. It is not heavy, a panty-liner is all that is needed. Is this something which might herald the onset of menopause, even at 36? I know I sound very ignorant, but I was raised by my father in family of males, and never really learned much about menstruation or menopause. I'm trying, though. Thanks for any insights anyone might have. I just don't understand the rather clockwork-like spotting. If it was random I wouldn't worry as much, as irrational as that may sound.
