PCOS...

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my enquiry. I am 24 and have been diagnosed with PCOS. I have had internal ultrasounds and blood tests that proved this. I first got my periods when I was 13 years old. I have never had regular periods and now I get them only twice a year - if that (I think I read somewhere that this can cause some type of cancer, which I was never informed about). I have over the years gained quiet a large amount of weight (I am quiet large, I eat next to nothing and have tried everything to lose it) and have alot of body hair (chest, chin, neck, back of legs and stomach) the rest of the hair on my body has gotten thicker and darker and the hair on my head has gotten thiner. When I do get my periods they can last up to a month, I have a huge amount of clotting and the pain is unbelievable - often unable to move out of bed. I have seen many doctors and so called specialist in relation to this matter and all the can offer me is "the pill" and accept the fact that I may never be able to have children, or worry about that when I want to have them. To me this is not a solution - it doesn't even cover up the problem. >From reading some of the information that I have found here I see that
there are treatments. I can't cope with this anymore and don't want to have worry about trying to "remedy" this situation when I want to have kids - and with the situation as it is at the moment it is really hard to continue to get up each morning and face the day, I feel so depressed and completely out of controlling my life. I have also had a lump removed from my armpit - about the size of a baseball. After testing this doesn't fit into any medical catergory (I have no idea if this could be related). I have also got major mood swings and have difficulty keeping cool (I sweat alot). I crave sweet along with salty foods (Chocolate, icecream and potato chips). I would really like any information you can provide me, maybe a doctor in Sydney that specialises or knows any information or about the treatments available, I would really like to get on top of this and begin to re-claim my life. Even if there is a treatment if I can't find a doctor here in Sydney then I have no idea how I can obtain the treatment. I thank you for your time in reading my information. I find it unbelievable that you can take time out of your no doubt busy schedule to help people like me.. Thank you again. I hope to hear from you soon.
