Post Endometrial Ablation ProblemsFrom: Nancy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 8 Jan 1999 18:37:10 -0600 (CST)
I am hoping someone can give me some assistance. I had an endometrial ablation performed in July 1998. It really helped with my frequent and very heavy periods, but now I have extreme and unbearable abdominal pain (uterus area) and cramping the day before and the first day of my period. This has been going on since I had the procedure done in July. I have called my doctor and he told me that as a result of the endometrial ablation I have developed scar tissue and this is what is causing the intense pain and cramping. He also told me that it would go away within six months, my body would adjust. Well, now it is January and, if anything, the problem seems to have gotten worse. I am unable to even function during this pain and cramping, can't be at work and must just lie down. Motrin does not even touch this pain and the few vicodin I have left over from the surgery only take the edge off ever so slightly. I don't know if there is any solution to this (taking care of the scar tissue or ?) Does anyone have any ideas? I really don't know what to do and it's hard to deal with this pain and the cramping, it is so intense. Thank you so very much for your assistance.
