pain long after birth

This is a bit embarassing, but let's see if I can be diplomatic and all...

Due to some rushed procedures in the hospital, I was given "Pit". Of course this worked, and very quickly to establish strong contractions. In any case, I birthed my son too fast and tore badly. The midwife was unable to sew me up to her satisfaction (she said), but I wasn't paying close attention at the time.

Postpartum, sex was painful, but I was assured that all I needed was time/healing. Well, it's been 2 yrs now and when my husband goes the "wrong" way against the worst part of the scar, it still hurts. Is this "normal"? What can I do to avoid these surprise attacks?

Thanks much!
