My period began on Dec. 31. I began experiencing brown staining along with dark reddish brown discharge that is sometimes accompanied by small clots. I have only been wearing a panty liner as it is not very heavy. The bleeding is also fairly "mucousy". I have been having regular cycles every 28-29 days since my second child was weaned about a year ago. It is now day 8 and nothing seems to be getting any better. I am not experiencing any pain. I believe I had a cyst on my right ovary in November that did bleed a bit a couple of days after ovulation and was quite painful. ( The bleeding occurred after intercourse) I had a normal period afterwards. Are they related? I called my OBGYN and they suggested waiting for the next cycle to see if I had a regular period. I am concerned that it has continued this long. Thanks for any help.
