Killing Yeast?

Will normal laundering kill yeast or other organisms that cause vaginal infections? Or is it necessary to wash underwear in hot water and bleach after a vaginal infection? Can these organisms cause additional infections if the underwear are not laundered adequately? Or should the underwear simply be thrown away and replaced?

I am curious because I have suffered frequent infections over the past five years and I want to do everything I can to prevent recurrences. The cultures never show anything but yeast, and sometimes not even that. This is an exasperating problem -- it really stinks to live half your life sore and itchy! I would appreciate any suggestions for preventing these infections, aside from the normal: wear cotton underwear, avoid tight jeans, etc.

Thanks, Andrea
