pelvic pain question?From: Ann (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 5 Jan 1999 16:42:33 -0600 (CST)
I recently went to the gyn for a annual exam and because I was having some pelvic pain. Initially, it started on my lower left side (mild pain). It is not constant, but comes and goes during the day. I cannot determine a pattern to the pain, except for the fact that I have the pain every day. Eight months later, I still have the pain and it appears to be somewhat worse and is not just in my pelvic area, but is also higher up, but still only on my left side. The gyn did an ultrasound, which was normal. In addition, I had irregular bleeding for about four years before going to a gyn last year. She put me on BCPs, which took care of the abnormal bleeding. The pain started about 3 to 4 months after I started taking the pill (orthocyclen). My question is could the pain be related to my taking the BCPs? Also, could the irregular bleeding and the pain be related, even if the BCPs stopped the irregular bleeding? (did not think to tell the gyn this time that I had irregular bleeding, since it is no longer a problem). Should I pursue asking the doctor what could be causing the pain, even though the pain is not incapacitating (I hate to seem like a whimp)? Thanks for the help.
