recurrent placental infarcts...helpFrom: Jill (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 31 Dec 1998 15:42:59 -0600 (CST)
My first was stillborn at 28 weeks due to maternal floor infarct. My second at 18 weeks, same cause. Had a 3rd miscarriage at 6 weeks, no testing done. Recently lost my 4th at 10.5 weeks. Baby had been doing great at 8 week ultrasound but apparently died a day or so before 10.5 wk ultrasound.. Waiting for pathology reports but guessing it is the placental infarct problem again. I've tested negative for APS (whole panel) three seperate times now. I was treated in the last pregnancy with baby aspirin beginning when I had pos pregnancy test. Then also Fragmin (a heparin) 1X a day beginning at 8 weeks. Also had tests for Inherited Thrombophilia (Protein C, Activated Prot C, Factor 5 mutation, etc) and all were normal. Also Embryo Toxic Factor negative too. Questions: 1. Do you think I should have been started on the heparin sooner? Did I start too late to make the difference I need to prevent the infarcts? 2. Do you have ANY ANY ANY ideas for me? Considering sending all pathology specimens to Dr Alan Beer in Chicago for immuno pathology analysis. What do you think? Is there anything I can do other than just give up? Thanks for your input.
