Re: tenderness months after tubal surgery

Please know you are not crazy!!!! This is common not only after tubals but after cesareans or other surgery...I have heard of the tenderness lasting up to a year or more. The thing is I am assuming you had a laparoscopy, not a regular incision as with other major surgery...so the explanation is not there (cutting through muscle causing the numbness/tenderness). I did have a tubal through a lap & had the same feeling of tenderness...above/around the belly button is where mine was. I didnt receive an explanation either b¨t have since had other problems so my advice to you woiuld be seek a second opinion...schedule a physical with a different ob/gyn or cnm. Go over your concerns with him/her...its a good start anyway.

<<I am wondering if any of the doctors has any insight into why I am experiencing continuing tenderness after tubal surgery in July. I had a tubal reconstruction to remove blockages from both tubes. There was an 8 inch incision along the hair lline. Almost 6 months later I still have tenderness in my lower abdomen (not at the incision sight, but higher up). The incision has healed normally according to my GP (who I've consulted about the tenderness I'm experiencing now- she had no idea). My cycles have been normal since surgery. This is the 5th post-op cycle.

I called the surgeon but he said "it will go away" and "forget about it" and he didn't want to see me.

I'm concerned about this odd sensation and am wondering if it may be related to not being able to conceive for the last 6 months since the surgery.

I hope someone has some ideas.

Thanks! >>
