Jess,

You don't need to be afraid to ask questions. Everyone here is here to help others. And I'm sure that other people have had the same question before.

You don't need to be worried about an exam. It's not the greatest thing in the world, but it's not the end of the world either. I think what you refer to as your body 'reacting' would be lubrication. First, your body wouldn't sexually react just by touch. Sexual desire is definately a mental thing as well. Also, the doctor will be using KY jelly to make things insert easier. Even if your body is hyperstimulated and producing lubrication (which it won't), your doctor wouldn't be able to tell.

Ever woman has to get pelvic exams (or should). I used to get so anxious about the exam that I would get hives. Now that's something the doctor would notice. :) I explained to my doctor that I was really nervous about the exam, and she was really nice and understanding. I'm seeing a different doctor now (who's a man) and I have ovarian cysts. In the past year, I've had 5 pelvic exams. I still don't like them, but I trust my doctor and I know that it will only last a few minutes.

Please don't cancel your exam. You should get a pelvic exam and pap smear every year. It's for your health!

I hope everything goes okay (it will),

Ann
