Jess: The gyn exam is not anything to be scared of. I see young people every day in my practice. After explaining the procedure and what to expect they relax and do very well during the exam. The most important thing to do is relax. The exam is done in a professional manner. Ask your examiner to explain to you what she/he is doing during the exam. That seems to help relax my clients.
