Ronna,

I agree with Dr. Connerth....sounds like endo of the rectosigmoid. My team has seen and treated this often. It can easily be missed during a laparoscopy if the rectosigmoid is not evaluated in particular. A barium enema and sigmoidoscopy usually fails to demonstrate the lesion, except in extremely advanced cases.

Resection of the lesion after 4 - 6 months of medical therapy usually solves the problem.
