McIntosh, MD: "Re: Confusing Hcg levels" I am 40 yrs old, on my second IVF cycle, and went in for my pg blood test this a.m. I received a message that it came back as a 12, and that they usually consider <5 as a negative, and 50 or over as positive. So what is a 12? They said my progesterone was a 38, and that I am to come back in two days to have another blood test, to see if the HcG level rises. So, what are my chances?
