In the november parents magazine it states that when a woman smokes during pregnancy is more than doubles her baby's risk for SIDS and may predose the risk of asthma. Repeated exposure to 2nd hand smoke may raise a youngsters evnetual risk for lymphoma, leukemia, and lund cancer. The University of Massachusetts Medical Center, reports that each year tobacco smoke is responsible for: up to 40 percetn of the cases of SIDS, up to 20 percent of lower respiratory-tract infections including bronchitis and pheunomia in children under 5, up to 13 percent of cases of outis media, which is associated with inflammmation, fluid build up and possible chronic infection of middle ear, up to 13 percent of asthma cases in youngsters 14 and under and about half a million doctor visits by children with symptoms of asthma.
