Sounds like you have a chronic lifelong problem---absence of regular ovulation. The BCP will correct this while you are on them--a return to your previous absence of periods is to be expected with discontinuation of the medication.Consult a specialist in the field to discuss medical methods to induce ovulation.Prolonged absence of menses in a young woman can place you in a higher risk group for later uterine cancer and cardiovascular disease.
