adhesions and pelvic painFrom: Laurie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 13 Dec 1998 18:55:41 -0600 (CST)
I have had numerous gyn problems over the past several years, including fibroids, ovarian cysts, worsening pms, etc. I have had several surgeries, including removal of right ovary. I have recurrent pain in my right side (side where I do not have an ovary). When I had surgery to remove fibroid (early Oct), after 3 months of lupron tx, I had the surgeon look laparascopically to see if there were any adhesions. The pelvis was 'clean' but my pain has increased over the past month. I have gone to see my internist because I was also having stomach problems. A barium enema showed nothing and I am scheduled for cat scan of my abdomen and pelvis on Tuesday. She does not think I have bowel adhesions because my symptoms would be 'worse.' I think I do have adhesions. My question is - will a CAT scan show adhesions? What exactly could it show? Thanks.
