Vicodin in Pregnancy

Hi :)

I am 12 almost 13 weeks pregnant. Tonight I got slammed with a MAJOR toothache and was in quite a lot of pain.

The dentist called in some vicodin for my tooth until he was able to see me in a day or two he said. (along with an antibotic).

My question is it safe to take this on a limited basis until I can get seen by the dentist? I tried calling my OB but all I got were two L&D nurses who gave me conflicting info. One said it should be ok if it was for a small time.. the other said they recommend NO meds at all in pregnancy.

I am ONLY considering taking the narcotic because of how bad the pain is.. it is REALLY bad and regular tylenol wasn't even coming NEAR the pain.. I tried.. again and again I tried it!

I am just trying to get some reassurance that if I take the Vicodin on this small limited time that I am not throwing the pregnancy into jepordy. I miscarried in August so I am quite neruotic about this pregnancy.

PLEASE help!!!!

Thanks in Advance,

Nicole
