Hi,

I'm 28 wks. pg and my heatocrit level was 25...doc said this was really low. He didn't prescribe extra iron, but instead, ordered a complete blood count. Now, of course, I have been so panicked I didn't ask him why. So, the results from the CBC come back tomorrow. In the meantime, can anyone tell me about a CBC and why he would order one? Couldn't I just take extra iron? Is this REALLY (dangerously) LOW? Why would it be this low? Is the baby in danger? Could there be a defect? I'm am very nervous now. I'm just happy I'm seeing an excellent doctor, in my opnion!

A note: I eat fairly well, I'm white (ruling out maybe sickle cell), and I take my prenats faithfully.

Thanks a bunch in advance! Amy
