Procedure during operative hysteroscopy and/or OPERA

During an operative hysteroscopy and/or OPERA to remove a 4 cm subserosal fibroid, would it be necessary to insert a Foley catheter into the bladder? Is abdominal ultrasound used at the same time to better enable the surgeon to operate?...or is the hysteroscope the only method of visualization? How is the patient prepped? ie, must the pubic area be shaved?

I'm trying to get a feel for the steps in the procedure.

This forum (indeed this entire web site) is an incredibly valuable tool for women and I applaud the originators of the site, and the professionals who provide answers to our questions! The information I have gleaned over the past week has been helpful in more ways than I could ever express. Thanks to you all.
