Re: High uterus at 8 1/2 weeks -- Thanks Dr ConnerthFrom: AMD (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 2 Dec 1998 11:33:55 -0600 (CST)
Dr. Connerth -- Your response is greatly appreciated -- I couldn't believe how quickly you responded. I didn't get the sense that my doctor was particularly concerned -- I think he was more just "thinking out loud". He didn't say anything about a sonogram. I was just wanting some confirmation that my impression was reasonable -- that my uterus being high this early was not some obviously bad sign. And your response is reassuring that it is likely a normal variation. But are there problematic conditions that can cause this? I've been pregnant before, but I distinctly remember my doctor last time telling me at 8 weeks that he couldn't feel my uterus and that was what he expected. I don't have any fibroids that I know of (I'm 28). I probably had a full bladder, but when does a pregnant women not have a full bladder? :) We are pretty sure of my dates this time since I was doing BBT. It sounds like we were fortunate to be able to heart the heartbeat this early, especially given that I am not a "thin" woman (I still got 20# from the last pregnancy 4 years ago!). Thanks Again Dr Connerth! Andrea
