Question about ASCUS

From: T. (anonymous@obgyn.net)

I just had a pap smear done and it came back with ASCUS (atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance), air drying artifact, and rare cells reactive changes. I am going to see a gynocologist in 3 weeks for a colposcopy. What does all this mean? Is there a possibility of cancer with this diagnosis? What are the possible treatments to clear this up?

Thank you in advance for your help.
