Premature Menopause/Ovarian Failure

I was told by my Dr. That my test results indicated I was post-menopausal at age 38. A few years prior he ordered MRI's because I was still lactating 10 years after I stopped breast feeding my baby. I had an IUD for 13 years after her birth. The IUD had to be surgically removed. I never had hot flashes. My periods were always heavy (since I had the IUD loop) But very regular. Mr Dr. put me on Prempro which I took for 2 years and discontinued. I now use natural progesterone cream. I feel better, but: I am now 42. I have no periods and altho I still have underarm hair, I have lost almost all of my pubic hair. I miss having my periods..and I hate the loss of pubic hair. I really believe I was not post menopausal, but possibly something to do with the thyroid. I have talked to him about this and he treats me as though I am neurotic. I feel that the HRT has probably ruined my chances of every menstruating again. And possibly the cause of hair loss. I feel I am too young for this and that the diagnosis at age 38 was careless and final. I have totally lost interest in sex. I don't even think about it....even if I did, the loss of pubic hair depresses me. I feel sterile, old, dryed up and sexless at TOO early an age. The MRI's turned up what looked like a pea size growth in the base of my scull, but I was told not to worry about it (by this same Dr.) Is there a link between the extended lactation, loss of periods, loss of pubic hair to the IUD, pea sized growth...or is this all just menopause? Please help. Thanks, p
