Hi...I have a rather aggravating situation. I was on the pill for many years, prior to my having my daaghter, who is now 3. When I was pregant with her, I had an ultrasound early on, as I was having much pain in L lower quad. to rule out an ectopic ptpregnancy. It was a corpus luteum cyst approx. the size of a golf ball. Successive USs revealed that it did shrink as the preganancy progressed. After having my child my period returned...very regular and with minimal discomfort. Gradually I started having pain with ovulation, L side, lasting until menses along with extreme irritability, breast swelling and decrease in sex drive. My OB suggested going back on the pill. Tried two low dose estrogen pills for 6 months..and symptoms appeared even more aggravated, with swelling, irritability and depression the whole month...No sex drive. I literally felt like I was possessed.. So I discontinued the pill ..now we are back to only the 2 weeks after ovulation with the symptoms. Is it possible that i may have a cyst that fluctuates in size...does this affect hormone levels...Can all of this affect my mental wellbeing and sex drive? I am so tired of feeling like myself only two weeks out of the month...sometimes less... Any suggestions?????
