amniotic membranes separatedFrom: misty (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 10 Nov 1998 21:50:31 -0600 (CST)
I am 16 weeks pregnant. At 11 weeks I had moderate bleeding,my doctor said was caused by or could be attributed to placenta previa. An ultrasound at 13 weeks reveiled that the two membranes that make up the amniotic sac had separated and some of the placenta had also.He can't explain why this would occur so early in pregnancy as normally It only occurs in women with high blood pressure in their 2ND trimester.I can't find any info on it or if it will present any complications during my pregnancy or labor and delivery. All I can get from my doctor is "We'll just have to wait and see." Thanks, Misty
