Transvaginal sonogram tests fine/but still will have menstral flow after hyst.and no uterusFrom: Janet (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 10 Nov 1998 08:35:29 -0600 (CST)
Hi, Since my supracervical abdominal hysterectomy four months ago I've been getting these one-day once a month periods. I've also been getting shedding of this pinkish tissue stuff coming out on the paper everytime I wipe after urinating and moving my bowels during the menstral period cycle time. I was just told yesterday by my ob/gyn that since I kept my cervix I will have a monthly menstral cycle even though the cervix was scraped free of any polyps and uterine tissue last month. I also just had a transvaginal sonogram last week which confirmed that my ovaries and cervix are fine, thank God. Anyway, I've been getting mixed info from outsiders that when there's no uterus you shouldn't get a period. What is causing this bleeding and pink tissue like stringy stuff to come out each month? Should I expect to get this until I go through menopause. I'm 45 yrs. old now and hope not to go through menopause until I'm at least 50. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Janet
