Re: HymenectomyFrom: amber (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 5 Nov 1998 19:54:45 -0600 (CST)
I know this is late, but as a college student I don't get on to message boards much. I had a hymenectomy last december at the age of 19. I had the same problems as your daughter, and so that's why they did the proceedure. I'm so grateful to be able to wear tampons because I teach step aerobics and am on the crew team here. Nevertheless, it's not always easy. There is still some scar tissue left, so it's not quite the normal opening. My problem is that I get very feverish (TSS symptoms) and dizzy occaisionally when I wear them. But sometimes that would happen before I had the proceedure, too. I wonder if they are the same symptoms? I lose boards so if anyone has any information my email is moulton@hws.edu. thank again :)
