HELP- I NEED TO KNOW! Can fibroids cause miscarriage?From: Terri (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 31 Oct 1998 15:04:16 -0600 (CST)
I have a fundal fibroid(outside the uterus. The doctor said that it would not cause me a problem with pregnancy. I got pregnant with IVF, had high beta levels and the embryo implanted in a good uterine position(high up). Everything was great until i miscarried at 8 weeks after 4 days of excruciating pain which doubled me over. The doctor said that the fibroid had grown with the pregnancy and was degenerating (bleeding from the inside) and that it was causing the pain. I cramped a couple of days later and miscarried. Could the fundal fibroid cause trauma and subsequent death of the embryo?
