It can take weeks to go away. If this is the diagnosis in your case, it's a harmless, but annoying, problem that should resolve with time. They are actually fairly common. I'm glad it does not hurt. However, since it's not possible to examine this area over the Internet (when *that* happens I'll have to find another job!), I would suggest a visit to your doctor just to make sure.
