hirsutismFrom: Wendy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 28 Oct 1998 16:23:15 -0600 (CST)
I have been having hair growth on my face for about 8 yrs now (started when I was 20)not alot, but enough for electrolysis. Recently, it has become much more pronounced. Dr. did an u/s and labs(testosterone, free-testerone, prolactin and another hormone) and all came back normal. I am caucasian and no other women in my family have this problem. My mother has peach fuzz but that is all. I have had one child, but am now having long anovulatory periods. My question is the dr. says they will probably not know what is going on and it is ideopathic. Do you think that all the bases have been covered? Is it common to have ideopathic hirsutism? It is quite troublesome! I did take aldactone for awhile, but am trying to conceive right now with clomid. Thanks so much!!!!!
