Regarding the HPV, once you have the virus, it's yours for life. Whether it manifests as a problem is truly a mystery. The fact that you have not had a recurrence of the warts and your paps have been normal is a good sign. However, it is still wise for you to continue yearly exams/paps to assure that nothing sneaks up on you. Your husband very likely also harbors the virus. Men get the better end of the deal with HPV-it rarely causes any problems except in their partners.
