Thanks for your thoughts Lea!

The pediatrician did not ask me about this -- I did fill out a separate form for him. The question was asked by the L & D nurse when I checked in for delivery. This was recorded on a sheet that was then included in my son's records for the pediatrician. This seemed to be part of the routine birth record that included stuff like apgars, type of delivery, blood types, etc. I first saw this last year when my pediatrician gave me a copy of his records because we were moving to another state.

Because of this, I'm not sure I will tell the labor nurse this in the future. I don't know why it would be relevant to my care in the delivery room.
