Re: ATTN : JAS from CONNIE controversy regarding episiotomiesFrom: Connie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 24 Oct 1998 13:45:29 -0500 (CDT)
Hi JAS, In response to the comments you posted to me I want to explain. I never intended any debate over male vs female doctors. And I believe that was made clear in my comments. I never said MALE doctors were bad or that FEMALE doctors were better. I simply stated what had occurred to some of my friends during the time I was delivering. I am not in the medical field in order to have access to so many doctors and to know how each one practices medicine. When I mentioned that it would be interesting to see the results of a survey on episiotomies among male and female doctors -- well, I do not root for any particular side. I do not choose my doctors based on gender and as a matter of fact -- most of my doctors happen to be male.
YOUR COMMENT:
>Please It is obvious even if a male Dr. did do a good job you prefer That is not true. WOW!!!!! -- I wish that the doctor who posted the other comment to me (Dr. David Ashley Hill) had delivered my child. And he is a male doctor. Personally, if I lived in Dr. David's area I would be going to him. (Too bad he works out of Orlando and I was in Miami at the time). His whole school of thought is what my belief system is, and that is the most important thing to me as a patient. I rate a health care provider by his/her caring, compassion, and skill. Hope this clarified things for you. Thanks for your comments.
