McIntosh, MD: "Re: HSG and Soreness" Reply: William D. McIntosh, MD: "Re: HSG and Soreness" I had an HSG on Tuesday. When my doctor inserted the speculum, it kind of pinched and hurt. On Thursday I noticed I have a small cut or sore on the outside of my vagina. (I did not notice it on Wednesday.) It is painful, but only when touched. Should I be concerned? Is it likely that it was caused by the HSG? Is this something I need to contact my doctor about?
