fourth miscarriageFrom: Andrea (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 24 Oct 1998 10:26:47 -0500 (CDT)
I am 26 years old and seem to be having my fourth miscarriage out of five pregnancies. One went to term, the others aborted at 10, 7, and 7 weeks. I am currently 5.4 weeks pregnant and bleeding again. I have had 3 D&C's for miscarriage, the last one being in March of this year. I have had no pain or cramping, just light spotting that started last night, with heavier bleeding this morning. I have passed no clots yet, but am sure that I will as I have in previous miscarriages. My husband and I have decided not to try for any more children for obvious reasons. My question is this: Is a D&C totally necessary, and will my body just continue to expel the remains until cleaned out? I really don't want to go back to the hospital for another procedure as it is becoming very costly, however I don't want to do something that will harm my body either. This is the weekend and my doctor won't be back in until Monday or I would be asking his opinion also. Thanks for any suggestions you may have.
